Bangkok is Thailand's major gateway. Most visitors arrive at Bangkok International Airport, which is connected to Europe, North America, Asia and Australia by daily fights aboard of world's major airlines.

Further international flights, mainly from Singapore, Kuala Lumpur Penang and Hong Kong, land on a less regular basis at Phuket and Hat Yai airports in the south and Chiang Mai in the north

A regular rail service links Singapore and Bangkok. Intermediary stops include Kuala Lumpur, Butterworth and major southern Thai towns.

Overland entrance to Thailand can be made via three road crossings on the Thai-Malaysian border in Songkhla, Yala and Narathiwat.

Thailand is also a gateway to the contries of Indo-China. There are several border crossings that lesd to these neighbouring countries.

• The road from Chiang Rai, northern Thailand leads to Kentung in Myanmar, Lao P.D.R. and Yunnan proviince in the PR of China;
• The road from Nakhon Phanom links northeastern Thailand with Lao P.D.R. and Vietnam;
• The road from Mukdaharn links northeastern Thailand with Lao P.D.R. and Vietnam;
